Apple and Almond Stuffed Brie

1 can (21 oz) LUCKY LEAF® Premium Apple Fruit Filling & Topping

1 Egg

1 Tablespoon Water

1 Tablespoon Flour

2 sheets puff pastry, thawed

2 1/5 pounds Brie cheese

1/2 cup almonds, sliced


Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Beat the egg and water together in a small bowl with a fork. 

Sprinkle the flour on a flat surface and unfold the pastry sheets onto it.  Cut one sheet in half, keeping the remainder for another use.  Match the short ends of both sheets next to each other overlapping slightly.

Roll the pastry sheets together into a 20 inch square then spread the pie filling on the pastry to within 2 inches of the edge. Sprinkle with almonds. Place the cheese in the center of the pastry then fold the pastry up over the cheese to cover.  With scissors, trim the excess pastry to make flat, press the edges together and press the sides onto the cheese. Brush with the egg wash. Place seam-side down onto a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil then brush the top and sides with more egg wash.   

Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let rest for 45 minutes.

Transfer to a platter and serve with crackers and/or bread.
