Ingredients

DOUGHNUTS

1 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups milk

2/3 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, cut into pieces

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

3 (1/4-ounce) packages active dry yeast

1/2 cup warm water (105°F. to 115°F.)

7 to 8 cups all-purpose flour

4 Land O Lakes® All-Natural Eggs

Vegetable oil

GLAZE

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons honey

Directions

Combine sugar, milk, butter and salt in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat until butter melts (3 to 4 minutes). Cool to warm (105°F. to 115°F.).

Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl. Add cooled milk mixture, 4 cups flour and eggs. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until moistened. Increase speed to medium; beat 3 minutes.

Stir in enough remaining flour to form soft dough. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes).

Place into greased bowl; turn greased-side up. Cover; let rise in warm place until double in size (1 to 1 1/2 hours). (Dough is ready if indentation remains when touched.)

Punch down dough; divide in half. Roll each half to 1/2-inch thickness on lightly floured surface.

Cut out doughnuts with lightly floured 3-inch doughnut cutter.

Place doughnuts on greased baking sheets. Cover; let rise until double in size (30 to 45 minutes).

Heat 3 inches oil in deep fat fryer or Dutch oven to 375°F.

Place 3 doughnuts, at a time, into hot oil. Fry until golden brown (30 to 45 seconds per side). Drain well on paper towels.

GLAZE

Stir together all glaze ingredients in small bowl. Dip warm doughnuts into glaze; place onto cooling rack to set.

Serve warm.
